The sophisticated flagship that combines sturdiness and agility

At 2006 Genoa Boat Show a new project is presented: the new flagship Paraggina 10, designed by architect Edoardo Miola in close collaboration with Gaetano Mussini.

3D design is used to develop the project, which leads to a prototype optimised in hydroynamics, ergonomics and styling, in line with the classic style of the previous products.

The hull and deck are made of hand lay-up fibreglass, with a reinforcing structural cage and a forepeak bulkhead to pair lightness with the necessary sturdiness. The use of high quality materials and specific painting cycles are a guarantee against ageing and osmosis.

Paraggina 10 shows at sea the potential of its design: course stability, no vibrations, very low noise, significant speed for this type of vessel. The design of the bow and the fore sections give an optimal sailing trim, perfectioned by two stern flaps which ensure a sprayless sailing even in choppy seas. A bow thruster and the double engine make every maneuvre easier.

The deck outfit, which include bitts (also retractable) and fore winch, thanks to its ergonomic layout make mooring easier even with a limited crew. Wood is Paraggina 10’s main theme in finish and furniture: alternating teak and mahogany creates pleasant contrasts. The crystal windscreen, with stainless steel structure and wooden details, shields the driver’s seat. Between the dashboard and the windscreen, an elegant foldable capote ensures protection to the mid of the boat. A bimini top easily set up extends the shade to the stern.

An ample aft deck for bathing is easily accessible from a safety hatch. The cockpit fitting out includes: sunbathing benches with cushions and underlying peaks; kitchen unit with stove, sink and fridge; driving seat and bar zone; a solid table which can be quickly lowered to expand the sunbathing area, and its pertaining upholstery. In the fore area: sunbathing with cushions and lifeline. For the interiors: double night accommodation to the fore; double night accommodation mid boat; optional table; fridge-kitchen unit; closet or dresser; toilet with separate shower cubicle.

he power relies on two 200 HP straight shaft engines. The cockpit hatches allow for easy maintenance of the engines, the mechanic and hydraulic control systems and to the steering gear room, located in a separate compartment. In the cockpit there is also an ample service store.

Of course, electronic navigation control devices can be added to the basic instrumentation for mechanical and trim equipment control, at the owner's discretion. The large water and fuel reserves allow Paraggina 10 to go far quickly and comfortably.
