Discover Portofino with a boat trip

A boat trip is the best and most authentic way to discover Portofino.
The promontory hides countless coves accessible only from the sea, known to the inhabitants who will generously reveal them to you.
Sailing from Portofino you will then discover the pearls of the Gulf of Tigullio: from magnificent beaches such as Paraggi and the Baia del Silenzio to towns such as Santa Margherita Ligure and Camogli and monuments such as the Abbazia di San Fruttuoso, which tell the rich history of this part of Liguria.
Each mooring is different and unique for those who have the privilege of getting to know these places from the perspective of the sea.

Utility Tour: Camogli

The boat trip to Portofino on the classic Utility Portofino ensures the authentic experience of a boat ride as the locals do, seeking out the most picturesque and peaceful places.

Just outside Portofino's small harbour there is Olivetta, a small cove where you can swim under the most beautiful houses on the promontory.

Before reaching San Fruttuoso we stop at Cala degli Inglesi, with its imposing rocky boulders, exclusive because it can only be reached by boat and on foot.

Finally San Fruttuoso, a magnificent bay where the Abbey rises above the sea. Here you can go ashore to visit the abbey and its museum, you can have lunch in one of the local restaurants that always offer fresh fish, and you can go swimming to visit the Christ of the Abyss, the bronze statue that was placed on the seabed at a depth of 17 metres on 29 August 1954 and has been one of the bay's main tourist attractions ever since.

To complete the boat tour of the gulf of Portofino, one can not miss Punta Chiappa and the Hermit's Cave. Punta Chiappa, which forms the final part of the Portofino promontory, juts out into the sea with its characteristic puddinga rock, a rocky conglomerate of pebbles typical of this place, and has an indentation in the emerged part which is the origin of its curious name. This is an area where you can still see how the fishing tradition is practised and valued.
The Grotta dell'eremita (Hermit's Cave), between San Fruttuoso and Punta Chiappa, owes its name to the memory of Giovanni, a man who, in the 4th century A.D., is said to have lived in solitude in the cave, living on what the sea provided him and what the fishermen passing by offered him. Today it is still a secluded and mysterious place, accessible only by sea, with a seabed rich in posidonia and numerous other marine species.

At Punta Chiappa there are two places where swimming is a special experience: the Bougainvillea House, where the sea is deep blue, and behind the old tuna fishery, where the water is so crystal clear that you can see the seabed from the boat.

This magical boat tour can only end in Camogli, the historic fishing village famous throughout the world for its tall, colourful houses overlooking the sea, where you can enter the harbour and take a stroll.

Corvetta Tour: Paraggi, Zoagli, Sestri Levante

The boat tour to Paraggi, Zoagli and Sestri Levante starts from Portofino.

The first stop is Paraggi: a sandy bay enclosed by rocks and a castle.
Here the emerald-green water reflects the foliage of the maritime pines that surround it and the sound of cicadas is the soundtrack.

In Santa Margherita Ligure you can go ashore to visit the town, with its castle on the sea, the basilica and the gardens of Villa Durazzo.

Continuing on to Zoagli, the part of the coast between Marina di Bardi and Zoagli enchants with its blue sea due to the flat, deep cliffs.

Finally we arrive in Sestri Levante, the town of two bays: the sandy Baia delle Favole and the Baia del Silenzio, considered one of the ten most beautiful beaches in Italy.

Paraggina Tour: Cinque Terre

The Cinque Terre and their national park are world-famous for their five villages overlooking the sea: Monterosso, Vernazza, Corniglia, Manarola and Riomaggiore.

During this boat trip you will be able to swim at the Rocce Rosse, a horseshoe-shaped bay that looks like a natural swimming pool, surrounded by rocks and caves. The name derives from the colour of the volcanic rocks that enclose it.

Vernazza is the only place where we will moor: from here we can go down to visit the Cinque Terre and go for lunch guided by the smells of the kitchens.
